Darryl Plecas betrays BC Liberals

Darryl Plecas of the BC Liberals has accepted the position of speaker which until the Kelowna West by-election is held we have 44-41 in favour of the Green-NDP and even after that assuming the BC Liberals hold Kelowna West, it will be 42-44. This likely means the NDP has a relatively free hand and could last the full four years. As a BC Liberal supporter I am very disappointed in this move and believe Plecas put his own personal interest ahead of the party and the province. It is my hope that if the BC Liberals pick up another seat in a by-election he does the right thing and resign as speaker so we can have another election. I will have more on this next week once the Throne speech and budget are brought down.
